The main goal of the Governmental Relations function at SSAB is to support our business, divisions and sites in the transition journey as well as our frontrunner position.
The role as Governmental Relations Manager
The main responsibility for the Governmental Relations Manager is to contribute achieving the overall aim of the Governmental relations function on the Swedish market, with special responsibility on regulatory issues on electricity and power supply. This position comes with a high degree of own responsibility to plan, act and deliver on the identified tasks combined with a clear emphasis on team effort. ‘We win and we lose together’. In the role you will be a part om the Government Relations Team and report to Head of Government Relations, with whom you will work in a close collaboration.
Independent, by own discretion and responsibility plan and execute projects within the framework of SSAB advocacy work with dedicated focus on energy/power supply
Responsibility to ensuring SSABs participation, engagement and dialogue with relevant stakeholder, forums, platforms etc. including close cooperation with SSAB corporate communications team
Responsibility to monitor, identify and analyse relevant policy measures and forums in agreed policy areas.
Together with the Governmental Relations Team and SSAB colleagues plan, develop, execute events and activities.
Knowledge and Experience
University degree in political science, law or equivalent
Previous relevant work experience (for ex. experience from a political party, Swedish Parliament and EU)
Excellent communication skills
Skills to work both strategically and hands-on
Focused on improvement and efficiency
Flexible and a great team player
Fluent in Swedish and English (other languages are a merit)
Excellent interpersonal skills and a “can do attitude”, unpretentious
Networking and relation building comes natural for you
Ability to work independently and proactively
