The role

The Head of Corporate Communications has a broad responsibility of communications in the group. The overall goal for the role is to contribute to a positive image and increased interest in our business both internally and externally. With the right mindset you will have a key role in the journey we are on by developing our communication channels further e.g. the external web, intranet, Yammer. The role also includes creating key messaging for our strategic direction, financial result, sustainability initiatives, interesting customer projects and people changes.

We estimate that the role involves a 50/50 balance between external and internal communication. You will report to the Group’s Chief People & Culture Officer, and naturally work in close collaboration with the CEO, CFO, CTO and other stakeholders. To be successful in the role you will be curious, creative, business oriented, and you welcome the variety of “big and small” tasks according to business priorities.

Main tasks

Internal communication

  • Lead the internal communications; own the intranet by ensuring relevant content and identify opportunities for improvement and increase usage across the group

  • Responsible for writing news on the intranet, e.g: video clips from management, People & Culture monthly newsletter, global news, “get to know your colleagues feature” etc.

  • Collaborate with IT on continued development of internal channels: intranet, local editors, Sharepoint, Yammer, TV screens

  • Responsible for running a monthly global “management call” on Teams (130+ participants); find topics, coordinate speakers and material

  • Lead the production of the internal quarterly magazine “The Vertical” through cooperation with colleagues / editors throughout the group

  • Support CTO/Sustainability team in the work to drive internal awareness of sustainability and digital initiatives

  • Contribute as communicator in selected People & Culture projects for the global organisation, e.g. core values, training, surveys etc

  • Be the internal copy writer and support management with change or crisis communication as needed, eg important news, potential structural changes, M&A’s, global initiatives

External communication

  • Lead and coordinate the news flow from Alimak group

  • Quarterly Reports: Prepare the reports and presentations together with CEO, CFO and group finance team, plan audiocasts.

  • Responsible for all external press releases related to corporate news and quarterly reports.

  • Support CEO with external communication eg. creation of presentation material

  • Responsible for media monitoring and analysis

  • Responsible for the group´s social media policy and contribute to efforts which drive traffic to the group Linked In page, including items such as business and financial news, vacant job positions, people stories

  • Internal project manager to produce the annual & sustainability report in cooperation with internal and external resources.

  • Support CTO/Sustainability team in the work to drive external awareness of our sustainability and digital initiatives, sustainability reporting.

  • Support the CFO and CEO in the preparation of communication material to the Annual General Meeting and board meetings

  • Responsible for the web supplier contract and publishing tool

Candidate profile

Preferred experience and profile

  • Experience of working with communication for approx. 10 years.

  • Experience of working with communication in/for a listed company, (as a consultant or in-house).

  • Experience of working with internal communication.

  • Competence in financial communication / messaging, Investor Relations is a merit.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English, copywriting.

  • Proficient with Microsoft office, Sharepoint, Yammer and external web software.

  • Familiar with and interested in sustainability communication and sustainability reporting.

  • Experience from the manufacturing business is a merit but not a must.

  • Academic degree or equivalent - preferably in communication / media or economics.

Location at Alimak Group's head office in central Stockholm. We are a very small head office with nice and friendly atmosphere, approx. 20 colleagues in the physical office. All other 2000 colleagues are spread out in many countries around the globe so “teamwork over Teams” is a natural and daily element, in order to be successful in this job.
